Cookies Policy

  1. Definition of cookies

Cookies are special texts, often encoded, sent by a server to a web browser and then sent back (unmodified) by the browser, each time the browser accesses that server. Cookies are mainly used for authentication, as well as for tracking user’s behaviour.

Cookies are completely passive, meaning that it does not contain software, viruses or spyware and cannot access the information on the user’s hard drive.

There are 2 general categories of cookies:

Session cookies – are temporarily stored in the cookies folder of the web browser so that it can memorize them until the user leaves the respective browser window.

Persistent cookies – are stored on a computer’s hard drive (and generally depend on the default cookie lifespan). Persistent cookies also include those placed by a website other than the one the user is currently visiting – known as „third party cookies” (cookies placed by third parties) – which can be used anonymously, to store a user’s preferences, so that the most relevant advertising for users is delivered.

This website uses both session and persistent cookies..

  1. The advantages of cookies

Refusing or disabling cookies may make some websites impossible to use.

Refusing or disabling cookies does not mean that users will no longer receive advertisements – but only that it will no longer be possible to take into account the preferences and interests of users, highlighted by browsing behaviour.

Examples of important uses of cookies (which do not require user authentication through an account):

  • Content and services adapted and relevant to the user’s preferences – categories of products and services.
  • Offers adapted and relevant to users’ interests – password remembering.
  • Retention of child protection filters on Internet content (family mode options, safe search functions).
  • Limits the frequency of ad serving – Limits the number of an ad display for a specific user on a site.
  • Measurement, optimization and analytics features – such as confirming a certain level of traffic on a website, what type of content is viewed and how a user gets to a website (e.g. through search engines, directly from other websites, etc.). Websites carry out these analyses of their use in order to improve them for the benefit of users.

III. The lifespan of a cookie.

The duration of the existence of a cookie is determined. The lifespan of a cookie can vary significantly, depending on the purpose for which it is placed. Some cookies have a lifetime associated with single use (session cookies). Other cookies are maintained and reused each time the user returns to the site (persistent cookies). Cookies can be deleted by the user at any time by using the browser settings.

  1. What on the Raluca Roman Couture website
  • Required cookies

The functioning of the site is not possible without their use. Disabling cookies can lead to serious difficulties in using the website or even the impossibility of using its services. Strictly necessary cookies do not allow the storage of information after leaving the site.

  • Cookies specific to an online session

Web pages have no memory. A user who browses multiple web pages will be considered by the new websites as a new user.

The cookies specific to an online session are those that usually store an identifier that will allow the user to navigate from one web page to another web page, without having to enter identification information on each page.

These cookies are stored in the memory of the user’s computer exclusively during an Internet browsing session and will be deleted automatically when the browser is closed.

  • Permanent, persistent or stored cookies

These cookies may retain the user’s preferences for a particular website, so that they can be used in other Internet browsing sessions. Persistent cookies are stored on the user’s computer and are not deleted when the browsing session is closed.

In addition to the authentication information, these cookies may also contain details regarding the selected language on a certain website, favourite pages inside a site, etc.
Persistent cookies can also be used to identify individual users and thus, to analyse the online behaviour of users. They can provide information about the number of visitors to a website, the time spent on a particular page, and in general, the performance of a website. These cookies are configured to track users’ activities for a long period of time, in some cases even years.

Each time a user visits the Raluca Roman Couture website, an analysis cookie will be generated by the analytics software provided by a third party. It allows monitoring the unique users who visit Raluca Roman Couture site, as well as the frequency of using the site.

This cookie only works if you are registered on our site, being used only for statistical purpose.

Cookies for measuring the audience allow the recognition of website visitors on the next visit. They store only the username (specific to each cookie) and do not collect personal data of users. These save the pages visited, the duration of each visit and the error message displayed in order to improve the performance of our site.

  • Flash cookies

In situation where the Adobe Flash program is installed on users’ computers, small files can be stored in the computer’s memory by websites that contain Flash elements (such as videos) with the help of flash cookies. These files are known as „local shared objects” or „flash cookies” and can be used for the same purposes as regular cookies.

Deleting regular cookies through the functions of a browser does not affect flash cookies in any way. Thus, a website that uses flash cookies may recognise a user on a new visit, if the data specific to the deleted cookies have been retained in a flash cookie.

  • First party cookies vs third party cookies

Each cookie has an „owner” – that is, the website / Internet domain that places that cookie.

First party cookies are placed by the Internet domain / website accessed by the user (whose address appears in the browser’s address bar).

A third-party cookie is placed by another Internet domain/ website than the one accessed by the user; this means that the accessed website also contains information from a third-party website – for example, an advertising banner that appears on the accessed site.

  • Functional cookies

Functional cookies are used only to provide the user, at his request, with an electronic communication service.

  • Tracking cookies and those generated by social network plugins

These cookies may retain the pages and websites visited and collect personal data, primarily the IP address of the device used for browsing the internet. The information thus collected may be distributed to third parties. Tracking cookies are used to provide advertising services.

This is the case, for example, of cookies that allow advertising companies to offer personalized ads tailored to your interests and preferences depending on the browsing history on our site or that limits their repetition. Your consent is required for these cookies.
